film making skills

since coming to university i have found a passion in filmmaking. our recent trip to the isle of Arran has significantly developed my skills and passion in filmmaking.
We were tasked with filming an 8-12-minute-long documentary about our successes and struggles of capturing Scotland's iconic five animals on Isle of Arran, Scotland.
We spent 3 full days on the island developing our skills and learning, The Isle of Arran was the perfect place to put our learnings into practice, it has a range of diverse habitats with differing terrains.

we faced a variety of challenges along the way, such as environmental conditions, time constrains and equipment limitations, these challenges all required problem solving and adaptability.   (resilience in creative practice Davis J)

we also had a few problems with group work and communication which we overcame with time.

i refined many of my skills of this trip such as cinematography, i learnt how to shoot in changing natural lighting, framing moving animals and landscapes and what to look for when shooting a sequence.

Since the isle of arran trip i have continued to develop my skills with smaller projects, i have recently started uploading a series of reels to my Instagram, editing them on DaVinci resolve to learn the program.

From lectures and classmates i have learnt many filming techniques and styles so far this year that have further developed my confidence to reach out to more potential clients and offer my skills
